About our State College insulation company

Attic rafters and walls are covered with pale spray foam in an unfinished room with a plywood floor and windows.

How this business got started

I spent several years as the right hand to another insulation contractor in this area, running jobs and learning the trade from the attic floor up, before I started this business in 2023. Most of our calls come from people in drafty older houses around State College, homeowners planning a remodel and a few property managers. They usually tell us about a hot upstairs, cold floors or a power bill that keeps climbing.

What I care about most is doing the work in the right order, because insulation laid over an open gap or damp wood only hides the problem. I also care about the people living in the house, so before we begin I talk through fresh air, any gas or oil appliances and whether you'll need time away from home. You can see the work we do on our home page, and if something in your attic or crawl space has you wondering, please reach out through our contact page and I'll come take a look.

What you can expect from us

  • The person who plans it checks it

I come out to look at your house and write the estimate myself, and our installers do the work. Before we finish, I check the job with you, so the person who made the plan is the one standing behind it.

  • Problems put in writing before anything is covered

If we find a roof leak, damp wood or old insulation that's soaked or full of droppings, we point it out to you in writing before any new material goes in. Fresh insulation over a problem only buries it, and you'd be paying later to dig it back out.

  • Sealing and insulating planned as one job

We do the air sealing first, closing the gaps around the hatch, pipes and light fixtures, then insulate while keeping the eave vents clear so the attic can still breathe. Planning it as one job in that order means you aren't paying twice to undo work, and if a smaller job is the better fit for your house, I'll tell you so.

Licensing and insurance

Serving State College and 4 surrounding cities

  • Licensed and insured

Licensed and insured. Please ask about it at your estimate, because it's a fair thing to check before anyone works in your house.

  • Pennsylvania home improvement registration

Pennsylvania has no state license for most construction contractors, but anyone running a home improvement business here has to register with the state Attorney General's office unless they're exempt. Someone doing less than $5,000 of home improvement work in a calendar year doesn't need to register, so it's worth asking any contractor where they stand.
